In 2006, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and
International Co-operation (MOFTIC), the National Advisory Committee on
External Negotiations (NACEN) and the European Commission Delegation in Guyana implemented a project to support the private sector participation in
the formulation of Guyana’s multilateral trade policy. The project was linked
into the Government’s National Competitiveness Strategy and was completed at the end of 2006.
project was funded from the European Development Fund, under a 12 million euro
Programme established jointly by the ACP Secretariat and the European
Commission under the ACP-EU Cotonou Partnership Agreement to Support the
Integration of the ACP States in the Multilateral Trading System.
