Valentin has been an associate with BKP Development since 2010. For the past eight years, he has worked on technical assistance projects, funded by various donors, in the fields of non-tariff barriers, SPS/TBT, Non-Agricultural Market Access, WTO Accession and Investment. Among his recent assignments are:

  • a study on certification requirements of the East African private sector to improve market access conditions for SMEs;
  • development of a training strategy for the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality in support of regional integration efforts;
  • technical assistance to the National EPA Negotiations Monitoring and Coordination Committee of Cameroon to support EPA trade negotiations of the Central African region; and
  • development of a common investment development framework for private sector operators in the Eastern African region.

Valentin holds a Bachelor degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of Reading (UK) and a Master’s in European Social Policy from the London School of Economics (UK). He is fluent in English, French, German and Spanish.
